We’ve arrived safe and sound in Wellington where Catherine and her boyfriend Rhys greeted us at the airport. It’s really great to see her again, it’s been 13 months since we last saw each other so it was a tad emotional. We’re staying at Catty’s house and she’s kindly given up her room for us whilst she stays at Rhys’s house, who lives four doors down the road. We’ve been made to feel really welcome from the other housemates too. It’s about 12 degrees cooler here in New Zealand which has been a shock to the system so it’s a good job Lee purchased a duty free hoodie at the airport and I’ve packed a few jumpers.
Coincidentally Catty finished her job yesterday so she’s free all week to spend time with us – yay! There’s lots of cafes, bars and restaurants to be tried and tested and today was a good start. We’re looking forward to going out for some drinks tonight though I must admit I’m wondering how my summer wardrobe will hold out?
Tomorrow I’m finally visiting the hairdresser after many weeks of bad hair and then we’re ‘doing lunch’ then off to the Te Papa Museum of New Zealand in the afternoon. We’re particularly looking forward to the four of us travelling to Martinborough in the Wairarapa region which is known for it’s wine. Catty has booked us a couple of nights accommodation in a cute little cottage close by.
Speak soon, love to you all.
